The history of Bethel Baptist Church goes back to 1888 when it was started as a mission of the First Baptist Church of Erie. Over the years Bethel has had many godly men serve as pastor, sent many missionaries around the world, and started other Baptist churches. Many things have changed since the church’s early days, however the mission remains the same: we desire to see people come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our purpose statement is “to know God intimately and joyfully serve Him in unity.” Everything we do and teach is based on the Bible, which we believe is the inspired Word of God. On Sunday morning at 10:45 we have a God-centered Worship Celebration, where we sing a mix of classic hymns and newer songs, pray, read the Bible, and listen to preaching that is relevant and biblical. In addition to our Sunday Morning Worship Celebration we have a variety of ministries for people of every age throughout the week.
